The first casino in Hoi An is about to open after 4 years of construction
On June 28, Hoiana Phase 1 is ready to open its doors to customers to experience the first infrastructure.
After 4 years of construction, the Hoiana complex project is expected to open to welcome the first guests at the award-winning entertainment area called Hoiana Suncity (partly opened), an 18-hole golf course designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. at Hoiana Shores Golf Club and the Hoiana Hotel & Suites.
This is the first phase of the $4 billion Hoiana complex project located in Duy Hai, Duy Nghia (Duy Xuyen district) and Binh Duong commune (Thang Binh district), Quang Nam province.
The rest of the complex is still being invested and opened in phases.

It is known that the Hoiana project was started in late 2010 by a joint venture between VinaCapital and Genting Berhad Malaysia. However, two years later, Genting unexpectedly announced his withdrawal from the project.
Chow Tai Fook of Hong Kong and Suncity, Macau's largest gambling leader, later became alternative investors and started construction of the project in 2017. The total registered investment capital of the project is more than 4 billion USD.
To date, Crown International Club is the only casino in central Vietnam open to foreigners. This casino is located on the coast of Da Nang, in a complex that includes the 535-room Crowne Plaza hotel and the 800-room JW Marriott hotel.
In addition to Suncity, some foreign businesses have also "jumped" into the casino business in Vietnam amid the constantly increasing number of international visitors.
In early June last year, Singapore's investor Banyan Tree Holdings was allowed to increase its charter capital from $175 million to $300 million and increase its investment in the Laguna Lăng Cô project in Thua Thien Hue from $875 million to $2 billion.
This capital is used to supplement the casino business and invest in additional hotels. It is expected that by 2021, the integrated entertainment area with a casino for foreigners will be put into operation, in which the casino will be built on an area of 2.64 hectares with an expected investment capital of USD 250 million.
In addition, The Grand Ho Tram Strip project in Ba Ria Vung Tau is also operating a casino in the resort complex with a 541-room hotel already in operation and another under construction.
The above casinos are only for foreign and Overseas Vietnamese players.
Meanwhile, Corona Casino is currently the only casino in Vietnam that allows Vietnamese to play. This casino is located in the north of Phu Quoc island, where the resort complex with nearly 6,000 hotel rooms developed by Vingroup has come into operation.
